Nicki Minaj Previews Pink Friday 2 In Bonus VMAs Perfomance — Watch Video

Nicki Minaj pulled double duty at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, both serving as emcee and satiating hungry Barbz with a special double performance.

Gradually stripping down throughout her time on stage, the rapper began with "Last Time I Saw You," the latest single from her upcoming fifth studio album. Addressing the screaming crowd, she then said, "MTV, it wouldn't be right if I didn't give y'all a Pink Friday 2 exclusive," launching into a first-ever performance of some new material.

Minaj is already a seven-time VMA winner, having already taken home Best Hip-Hip Video for "Super Bass" in 2011, Best Female Video for "Starships" in 2012, Best Hip-Hop Video for "Anaconda" in 2015, Best Hip-Hop Video for "Chun-Li" in 2018, Best Power Anthem for "Hot Girl Summer" in 2019 and Best Hip-Hop Video for "Do we Have a Problem?" in 2022. She was also the latest recipient of the VMAs' coveted Video Vanguard Award, an honor being given to Shakira at this year's ceremony.

She entered Tuesday's ceremony with six additional nominations: Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Visual Effects for "Super Freaky Girl"; Best R&B Video with Yung Bleu for "Love in the Way"; Song of the Summer with Ice Spice and Aqua for "Barbie World"; and last but not least, Artist of the Year.

Of course, Minaj was just one major performer at Tuesday's VMAs, which also featured highly anticipated performances from Anitta, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Demi Lovato, Diddy, DMC, Doja Cat Doug E. Fresh, Fall Out Boy, Future, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, Måneskin, Olivia Rodrigo, Peso Pluma, Shakira, Stray Kids, and Tomorrow X Together.

Hosted by Minaj, this year's VMAs were broadcast live from Newark, N.J.'s Prudential Center. Frontrunner Taylor Swift entered the ceremony with 11 nominations, followed by SZA in second with six nods, plus five for Minaj, Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus and Sam Smith.
