Ratings: Opposite Globes And Football-Infused Fox, CBS' Boss And Good Wife Take Biggest Hits

NBC's presentation of the Golden Globe Awards held steady year-to-year — which for the Peacock is a big ol' W — but the big winner on Sunday night was Fox's animated line-up, which saw its numbers significantly 'tooned up by its NFL playoffs lead-in.

Opposite the Globes (which based on preliminary numbers appeared to be pretty much flat versus 2011), The Simpsons (with 15.7 million total viewers and a 6.8 demo rating) is looking at a nearly 300 percent surge coming out of the Giants-Packers game, teeing up Napoleon Dynamite for a debut audience of 9.5 mil and a 4.6 rating (aka double that of Allen Gregory's fall premiere).

Leading off the 9 o'clock hour, Fox's Family Guy (8.5 mil/4.4) enjoyed gains of some 40 percent; a second blast of Dynamite then drew 7.2 mil/3.6 (down 20 percent from its opener). Though the numbers are due to be adjusted because of slight NFL overrun, Fox is set to register its highest-rated Sunday night in two years.

The biggest casualties of Fox and NBC's largesse were on CBS. Undercover Boss (11.6 mil/3.0) matched its Season 2 premiere audience but dropped 21 percent in the demo, while The Good Wife (9.3 mil/1.9) was down 20 and 30 percent, respectively.

Over on ABC, Once Upon a Time (9.84 mil/3.3) and Desperate Housewives (7.8 mil/2.7) each dropped 10 percent in the demo, and Pan Am dipped only slightly to 3.93 mil/1.2.
