Casting News: Chace Crawford To Play Ball With Chris Meloni, Gina Torres Returning To Fox And More
Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl, The Boys) is the latest addition to Dan Fogelman's untitled NFL drama for Hulu, Deadline reports, playing the new general manager of a football team coached by Chris Meloni's Danny Roarke.
The show's previously reported cast includes Sam Corlett (Vikings: Valhalla) and Tanner Zagarino (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as Danny's sons, William H. Macy (Shameless) as team owner Hank, and Chloe Benet (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Mandy Moore (This Is Us) as Hank's daughters.
In other casting news...
* Gina Torres, last seen playing Captain Tommy Vega on Fox's 9-1-1: Lone Star earlier this year, is returning to the network in a recurring role on the Patrick Dempsey-led drama series Memory of a Killer, about a hitman secretly struggling with early onset Alzheimer's. Per Deadline, Torres will play Linda Grant, a "mercurial, seasoned and brilliantly tenacious FBI Agent who becomes a major antagonist for [Dempsey's] Angelo." The series also stars Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Richard Harmon (The 100), Odeya Rush, Daniel David Stewart (Reacher) and Peter Gadiot (Queen of the South). A premiere date is not yet known.
* Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) has joined the cast of Apple TV+'s limited series Wild Things, which stars Jude Law and Andrew Garfield as legendary magicians Siegfried and Roy. Theroux will portray real-life Las Vegas mogul Steve Wynn. A premiere date is not yet known.
* Seth Rogen (The Studio) and Kate Berlant (A League of Their Own) will guest-star in a Season 2 episode of Netflix's Nobody Wants This, but no information about their characters has been released.
* Starz has unveiled the full cast of its upcoming British boxing drama Fightland, now in production in London. The cast includes Howard Charles (Shadow and Bone) as former heavyweight champion Maduka "Duke" Kilroy, who returns home to London in search of revenge; Nicholas Pinnock (Long Bright River) as criminal kingpin Kingsley Marshall; Deborah Ayorinde (Them) as Kingsley's wife Joy; Charles Babalola (Black Mirror) as Kingsley's son Zeek; Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Vampire Academy) as Kingsley's daughter Cece; Tahirah Sharif (The Haunting of Bly Manor) as "confident ring card girl" Kim Harper; Tyler Conti (The Gentlemen) as Duke's best friend Jay; and Richard Pepple (Cobra) as Duke's estranged father Gary.
