Doctor Who: Varada Sethu Reflects On The End Of Her Run, Says 'Mom & Dad Forever' To Ncuti Gatwa

Having needed "a few days to process this show, this finale and everything and everyone it has brought into my life," Varada Sethu now has shared her thoughts on exiting Doctor Who after a one-season run as Fifteen's companion. (Prior to her debut as ER nurse Belinda Chandra, Sethu appeared in Season 14's "Boom" as Belinda's descendant, Anglican marine Mundy Flynn.)

"I'm sooo late to the party (as always), but needed to take a few days to process this show, this finale and everything & everyone it has brought into my life, what it all means," Sethu shared on Instagram Wednesday.

"My heart has doubled in size. I have felt so so full of gratitude and love, I still feel I haven't found the words to express it," she continued. "It has been a true gift to know a woman like Belinda, I will never forget our journey together."

To her Time Lord, Ncuti Gatwa, Sethu said, "Thank you for being my partner in crime, my beloved Doctor. You are unending, pure magic, what a privilege it's been to bear witness to it. Mom & Dad forever❤️."

(Gatwa in turn commented on the post, "MOM AND DAD FOREVER ❤️" — a nod to Fifteen and Belinda's "impossible" daughter, Poppy — adding, "love you endlessly.")

To "sweet angel" Millie Gibson, who preceded Sethu as companion Ruby Sunday, "thank you for your kindness, for always lifting me up," Sethu wrote. "You have stolen everyone's hearts!! I cannot wait to see what life has in store for you."

Sethu then gave props to her hair, makeup and costume crew, before thanking the show's "beautiful fans... soooo much for embracing Belinda, for all the kind words, all the joy!"

She closed out her message by addressing showrunner Russell T Davies, saying, "I think I finally understand what you meant when you said my life would never be the same. I feel transformed. Thank you thank you thank you.🙏🏾💫"
