Casting News: Josh Segarra Joins Doc Martin Adaptation, Marcia Gay Harden's Netflix Gig And More

Josh Segarra (Arrow, Abbott Elementary) has boarded Best Medicine, Fox's adaptation of the popular UK series Doc Martin.

Described as a "charmingly complicated one-hour comedy," Best Medicine centers on Dr. Martin Best (The Good Wife's Josh Charles), a surgeon who abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a quaint East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child.

Abigail Spencer (Timeless), as reported earlier this week, plays Louisa Glasson, a charming local school teacher who immediately gets off on the wrong foot with Martin, but finds herself intrigued by him.

Per Deadline, Segarra will fill the series-regular role of Mark Mylow, a lovable sheriff who is excited to befriend Martin — though maybe less so once Martin starts to grow closer to Mark's ex-girlfriend, Louisa!
