After (seemingly) outwitting Chase with an arrow to the leg, Oliver welcomed his terrorized son into his arms.

Chase lays forth the helluva decision before Oliver: "William, or everyone else. You choose."

The intensity-slash-despair in Oliver's eyes the instant he sees William alive, but in Chase's clutches.

"We're not going anywhere without Oliver, or his son." More like Death-softy, amiright?

The "Oh $#*!" moment you realize that Chase knew that Felicity & Co. would make a beeline for his plane.

Oliver makes use of Anatoly's goodie bag to cast himself as a bedraggled castaway, leading to a match of the pilot's opening scene.

Chase can go on moping about his own dad's death, Oliver says, but "I am done blaming myself for mine." Great work by Stephen Amell.

A motley crew — and we'd have it no other way.

These choke holds started out the same, but ended quite differently.

Kovar's shish kabob'd henchman swinging back down as Oliver forges on was pretty funny.

Samantha draws Felicity into an "awkward talk" between Oliver's exes, but partly to observe that in light of the liplock she just witnessed, things between those two "don't seem that complicated to me."

Malcolm shoves "feisty" Thea off of the land mine and assumes her place, ready to sacrifice himself for a greater good. "All I ever wanted was to protect you," he explains. "You may not think of me as your father, but you'll always be my daughter."

Slade + Shado memories = one-eyed sideye.

Oliver shooting down Kovar's chopper (as one typically does in, you know, videogames).

In a talk that hailed back to their bromantic, early island days, Slade tells Oliver they are both "haunted" by their pasts. "You blame yourself for your father's suicide," and to move forward, he counseled his frenemy, "you need to forgive yourself for your sins."

Diggle takes a dig at Black Siren for helping exact payback "for a guy you barely know, on a guy you barely know." Fair point. Very fair point.

Quentin is happy to KO his dead daughter's doppelgänger, "for so many reasons."

Thea points out to Oliver that between Slade and Malcolm, they are in alliance with the men who killed their parents. "Nothing about this situation is ideal," Ollie acknowledges. Ya think?

Speaking for everyone upon seeing archenemy Deathstroke among their ranks, Felicity says to Oliver, "We're going to talk about that, right?"

Dinah and Laurel-Two realizing it's not good to yell at each other.

The moment we are (briefly) reassured that Deathstroke has not in fact switched teams. Whew!

The way the camera zipped around the group fight sequences, giving everyone their kickass "moment." Best #DCTV example of that since the Legends of Tomorrow pilot.

In trade for his most unexpected service, Oliver offers Slade intel on his son Joe's whereabouts — and Slade appears quite moved by the gesture.

Before being sent off to safety, Felicity pulls her ex into a prolonged kiss.

"What was that for?"

"Just in case."

Nyssa warns Digger that if he points his boomerang in her general direction again, "I will feed you your eyes." And you believe her.

Oliver's Horatio Caine-like "Dos vedanya, Konstantine" moment comes up empty. #Awkward

Chase finally surfaces, accompanied by that chilling musical cue.

Slade arrives to slice up some ninjas and keep the al Ghul gals' fight fair.

Nyssa and her "sis-tah" Talia settle so much "unfinished business."

"Actually, it's Black Canary."

The moment we realize that Slade (again!) did not betray Oliver, but was helping set in motion a plan.

That is a lot of bombs.

"How can you miss somebody you hated so much?" is all Thea can wonder in the wake of Malcolm's death. "I got to see the father he could have been, but will never get to be."
