CBS Renewal/Cancellation Cliffhangers 2019

BULL

The CBS procedural — which found itself in #MeToo's crosshairs last December when word of Eliza Dushku's settlement for alleged on-set sexual harrassment leaked — has shed more than a third of its audience since relocating to Mondays-at-10. At this point, the show is probably more trouble than it's worth. Bottom line: It's a long-shot.

FAM

The rookie Nina Dobrev-Tone Bell sitcom is performing at the same disappointingly low level as time slot predecessor Murphy Brown. But unlike the pricey Candice Bergen revival, Fam is produced in-house, which could give it a slight advantage. Bottom line: It could go either way

Happy Together

HAPPY TOGETHER

After regularly squandering a sizable chunk of its Neighborhood lead-in, the Damon Wayans Jr. comedy was the only member of CBS' fall freshman crop to not score an order for additional episodes (beyond its initial 13). Bottom line: It's a very long-shot

Life is Pieces

LIFE IN PIECES

Season 4's late berth (the Short family returns April 18) could push a decision on Season 5 into summer. So consider this particular cliffhanger on hold. Bottom line: It's too early to tell.

UFO + Area 51

MACGYVER

The reboot remains CBS' lowest-rated Friday drama, but it's not trailing Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods by that wide a margin. Bottom line: It could go either way.

Between the Seats

MADAM SECRETARY

The Téa Leoni-fronted political drama stands as CBS' second lowest-rated scripted series, but we know better than to bet against the death-defying Elizabeth McCord. Bottom line: It could go either way.

Adam's Wall Hole Bowl

MAN WITH A PLAN

The Matt LeBlanc-led sitcom is down only slightly year-over-year. And "down only slightly" is the new "flat," so... Bottom line: It's a safe bet.

MURPHY BROWN

The revival arrived with medium-sized expectations — critically and commercially — and fell short on both counts. Bottom line: It's a long-shot.

SEAL Team

SEAL TEAM

The sophomore David Boreanaz drama is down double digits vs. its promising freshman season. This one could come down to the strength of CBS' pilots. Bottom line: It could go either way

SWAT

S.W.A.T.

The Shemar Moore procedural is off a teensy 8 percent vs. it's rookie run. Plus, its most recent episode flirted with season-best ratings. Bottom line: It's a safe bet.
