MTV Movie Awards: 9 Moments To Discuss

Talk about setting the tone for the night... From The Rock's review of Hulk Hogan's sex tape ("He put that 24-inch python to work!") to the observation that he styled himself like a "buff lesbian" in the '90s, the jokes in the opening bit were more awkward than funny.

The co-hosts' second strike came when they re-emerged wearing Batman/Superman costumes and spent five minutes calling out all the "Marvel bitches" in the audience until Hart's voice reached pitches audible only to the dogs watching from home. (I swear, I wanted to like these two together, I really did.)

As part of the hosts' "Marvel bitches" bit, they called out nominee — and contractually obligated attendee — Chris Pratt, saying, "We'll smack your ass back to sitcoms." (I'm sorry, is being a cast member of Parks and Recreation considered a punishment now?)

Speaking of Pratt, we loved Amy Poehler's shout-out to her former Parks and Rec co-star on the ninth anniversary of the NBC comedy's first airing. Also, the opening of her acceptance speech ("Thanks for voting for me for this! ... Did anyone vote? I don't know!") perfectly summed up the energy of the night.

Halsey's performance of "Castle" was the X-Men/Frozen crossover we never saw coming.

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. So... here are 1,000 words about Zac Efron apologizing to Seth Rogen's balls.

The Lonely Island's medley of Will Smith jams — including the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song — could have been three times longer. It was, without question, the best moment of the night involving overalls.

Also, remember when The Lonely Island came out to introduce Queen Latifah so she could introduce Halle Berry so she could introduce Will Smith? It was like watching a bunch of giant Russian nesting dolls come to life.

Is this (1) a Rebel Wilson wardrobe malfunction, or (2) Pixels accepting the award for Movie of the Year?
