Patrick J. Adams Is Up For Suits: L.A. Visit, In Part To See How It's Going ('Or If It's Going') For Mike And Rachel

Despite becoming one of the busier gents in TV, Patrick J. Adams would make time for a visit to Suits: L.A., NBC's upcoming offshoot of the nine-season USA Network franchise.

The original Suits, which premiered in June 2011, revolved in large part around the fact that Adams' Mike Ross, an associate for corporate lawyer Harvey Specter (played by Gabriel Macht), in fact had never attended law school.

At the close of Suits Season 7, Mike and longtime girlfriend/colleague Rachel (Meghan Markle) tied the knot and readied to move to Seattle, in a wedding episode that aired just weeks ahead of Markle's real-life wedding to Prince Harry. (Markle never appeared on the show again, while Adams returned for a few episodes of Suits' ninth and final season.)

One year ago, on the heels of Suits putting up record streaming numbers with its release on Netflix, NBC Universal put into development a spinoff pilot, for what would become known as Suits: L.A.. Arrow star Stephen Amell wound up landing a lead role, a pilot was filmed in April, and Suits: L.A. was ordered to series in July. (Its cast also includes The Walking Dead's Josh McDermitt, The L Word: Generation Q's Lex Scott Davis and One Tree Hill's Bryan Greenberg.)

As part of a larger Q&A with Adams about his role on Fox's Accused — the crime anthology opens Season 2 this Tuesday, and Adams' episode airs Oct. 19 — TVLine asked if he had spoken to his former Suits boss, Aaron Korsh, about the spinoff, and if Adams would like Mike to put in an appearance.

"I've offered my services at all times," Adams declared without missing a beat, adding: "I love Aaron Korsh and I love that world; it changed my whole life."

"Obviously I congratulated Aaron when he got the [series] pickup," and the two have sent texts back-and-forth since, Adams says. "I know he had an amazing time on the pilot. He said it was like putting on those favorite old clothes again, but with brand-new people who haven't been in the trenches with you yet."

Any appearance by Mike Ross would pretty much demand an update on his marriage to Rachel, though Adams is confident the two are still together.

"Of course they are. Or at least I hope so...," Adams said. "That will be the interesting thing, if we can get Mike back in the fold somehow. I guess we'll figure out how it's going [with Rachel] — or if it's going."
