Will The Afterparty Return For Season 3?

Edgar Minnow's murder has been solved, a person is behind bars and Danner's making a movie about Xavier's murder. Will her wrap celebration potentially become the next Afterparty?

With the Season 2 finale having dropped on Apple TV+ Wednesday, many are wondering whether the murder mystery/comedy will be back for Season 3, so we went straight to the source: creator and executive producer Chris Miller, and EPs Anthony King and Phil Lord. While hopes remain high that Zoë and Aniq may once again be thrust into another puzzling murder scene, there are some real-life issues that need to be addressed before a third go-around can start moving forward.

"We have a lot of ideas, but right now we're on strike," King tells TVLine. "So until the AMPTP comes back to the table and makes a good deal with the writers, none of those things can come to fruition. They all have to stay just ideas, so we're waiting on that."

In Wednesday's finale episode, Zoë made a shocking (yet comedic) confession, Vivian made a big move to help the case and loads of guest-stars popped in for cameos, including Keke Palmer, Elijah Wood and Jaleel White (who's playing the part of Sam in Danner's movie). Martin Mull appeared as Sheriff Reardon, who finally agreed to listen to Danner and Aniq's theory as they correctly nailed the killer. (Get all of the spoiler-y details in our recap.)
