AGT Delivers More Dramatic Cuts In Week 3 — Did Your Favorite Acts Make The Season 20 Semifinals?
A third week's worth of semifinalists are officially locked in for America's Got Talent Season 20. Following Tuesday's performance show, 10 acts from Week 3 returned to the stage on Wednesday to learn their fates... live!
That group included danger-skaters Jacqueline and Wagner, country crooner Austin Brown, the Benn Family Band, clothing-optional danger duo Messoudi Brothers, techno-magician Mastermind, rock band Girish and the Chronicles, crossbow goddess Anna Saranina, freestyle rapper Chris Turner, and Season 1 songstress Jessica Sanchez.
One lucky Week 3 act, rapper Micah Palace, didn't have to sweat it out during Wednesday's live results; thanks to Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer on Tuesday, he's already guaranteed a spot in the Season 20 finals.
Prior to Wednesday's live show, six acts had already been sent to the Season 20 semifinals: Light Wire, Sirca Marea, Jourdan Blue, Unreal Crew, Leo High School Choir and Bay Melnick Virgolino. Meanwhile, Golden Buzzer recipients Steve Ray Ladson and Mama Duke will be seeing Micah Palace in the finals.
So, which lucky acts are moving on to the semifinals? And which equally deserving acts just didn't earn enough of America's votes? Read on for a breakdown of Wednesday's results, complete with videos from Tuesday's performance episode. When you're finished, drop a comment with your thoughts. Were any of your favorites eliminated this week?
11. ELIMINATED: Jacqueline and Wagner
On any other show, watching a guy swing a woman by her hair would be considered a no-no. But this is America's Got Talent, which Jacqueline and Warner are absolutely crushing so far.
10. ELIMINATED: Austin Brown
The bonafide country rocker's star continued to rise during the quarterfinals with a performance of his original song "Whiskey."
9. ELIMINATED: Maceo Harrison
No one knows how to make an entrance quite like Maceo Harrison, who arrived on stage swinging on a chandelier, set to — what else — Sia's "Chandelier."
8. ELIMINATED: Benn Family Band
Nary a viewer was left uninspired by the Benn Family Band's jaw-dropping performance of Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up."
7. ELIMINATED: Messoudi Brothers
It must have been hot on stage with all those pyrotechnics, so it's a good thing the Messoudi Brothers were dressed — or should we say undressed — to endure the heat.
6. SAFE (Golden Buzzer): Micah Palace
Simon Cowell was so impressed by Micah Palace's performance in the quarterfinals, he gave the Connecticut-based rapper a Golden Buzzer, sending him straight to the finals.
5. SAFE: Mastermind
Mastermind's quarterfinals routine once again blended technology with magic — and we have no idea how he pulled it off.
4. ELIMINATED: Girish and the Chronicles
Girish and the Chronicles once again put their unique spin on an iconic song, delivering a hard-rock rendition of Sia's "Unstoppable," making the empowerment anthem totally their own.
3. ELIMINATED: Anna Saranina
Anna Saranina proved herself to be an absolute firecracker in the quarterfinals — and not just because her routine began with Anna literally cracking a whip on fire.
2. SAFE: Chris Turner
We had no idea what was going to come out of Chris Tuner's mouth during the quarterfinals. Then again, he's a freestyle rapper, so he didn't really know what was going to come out either.
1. SAFE: Jessica Sanchez
Jessica Sanchez returned to the AGT stage, now eight months pregnant, with a powerful performance of Alex Warren's "Ordinary," which she dedicated to her growing baby.
