Descendants: Wicked Wonderland Wraps Filming — First Look At Fifth Movie's New And Returning Cast
The Descendants franchise is heading back down the rabbit hole in 2026.
Thursday, May 29 marked the final day of filming the fifth movie in the popular series, titled Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, which finds several beloved characters returning for an encore — along with some intriguing new ones.
Following the events of 2024's The Rise of Red, the fifth installment finds Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) facing the consequences of their recent time-bending journey. Though specifics about the plot remain under wraps, we know that the film will primarily take place in present-day Wonderland.
Filming on Wicked Wonderland began April 2, with Disney releasing this first-look photo of the new cast:
Joined by several new descendants, the team will uncover the consequences Uma alluded to at the end of the previous movie: "Getting what you want can be dangerous, especially when you mess with the fabric of time."
Descendants: Wicked Wonderland is being directed by Kimmy Gatewood (The Baby-Sitters Club), with choreography by Emilio Dosal (Wicked). Tamara Chestna (Sneakerella) wrote the script alongside Rise of Red scribes Dan Frey and Ru Sommer.
A release date hasn't been announced and an official trailer has not yet been released, but Disney did share this video from set to celebrate the end of production:

Introduced in the fourth Descendants film, Red is the daughter of Wonderland's Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora), while Chloe is the daughter of Cinderella (Brandy) and Prince Charming (Paolo Montalban).

Wait, Madrigal as in... Encanto? Yes, Luis is indeed the son of Mirabel's powerful sister Luisa.
Kiara Romero as Hazel Hook
Hazel is the daughter of Captain Hook (Joshua Colley) and the younger sister of Harry Hook (Thomas Doherty).
Zavien Garrett as Felix
Felix is the son of Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog, which also makes him the brother of Celia Facilier (Jadah Marie).
Joel Oulette as Robbie
Robbie is the son of Robin Hood, who was apparently a human — not a fox! — in the Descendants world.
