Miss Benny Breaks Down Marco's Glamorous Love Life, From Parker To Ben... And Chad?

Miss Benny is living for the Sex and the City moment they're having on the new Netflix dramedy Glamorous — and we don't just mean getting to pal around with Kim Cattrall.

Their character, mall worker-turned-beauty industry disruptor Marco Mejia, is at the center of a love triangle fit for a sex columnist.

"I saw it like when Carrie is dating Big and Aidan," Miss Benny explains to TVLine. "You have these two wonderful options, but they're very different in how they see her and treat her."

That's certainly a way to look at Marco's two options — Ben aka "Computer Boy" (played by Michael Hsu Rosen) and Parker aka "Uber Boy" (Graham Parkhurst) — even if one of them becomes considerably less "wonderful" as the season progresses.

"While we were filming this season, the crew and cast had evolving opinions on who they liked more and who they thought was better for Marco," Miss Benny says. "It's such a fun story to watch, because in one minute you're like, 'Oh, I get it. But I also get this one! And which one is Marco going to pick?!' At the end of the day, it all falls on Marco."

Regardless of which guy Marco ends up with, Miss Benny thinks it's worth celebrating that this love triangle even exists in the first place.

"It's cool that Marco, being such a flamboyant, queer man, got to have that experience with two love interests who are so different and both attracted to him," Miss Benny says. "I'm excited to see what the viewers think who they root for."

Marco and Parker

Sure, they've got a great 'ship name (#Marker), but that's just about where we run out of nice things to say about this pairing. We appreciate a grand gesture — and it doesn't much more grand than a surprise meeting with Monét X Change — but we would have appreciated Parker not dimming Marco's light, thus eliminating the need for such a gesture, even more.

"In my real life, I have certainly dated a Parker," Miss Benny says. "When I was filming it, I had complete understanding for Marco. I was like, 'Girl, we've all been there!'"

Parker's masculinity complex and general fear of gender expression (plus a disastrous weekend in P-Town) ultimately made this relationship a no go, but the spark between him and Marco is still very real.

"I screen tested with Graham, who plays Parker, and was amazed at how well casting is able to predict chemistry, because we immediately hit it off," Miss Benny says.

Marco and Ben

And then there's sweet Ben, the Henry to Marco's Ugly Betty.

"Michael [Hsu Rosen] is so cute and sweet, and the way he plays Ben is so endearing," Miss Benny says. "When I watch the show, I geek out. I separate myself from Marco and just enjoy this cute little flirt thing they have going on."

Ben is the "nice guy" in the Glamorous love triangle, the one who's always there for Marco throughout the season, and the one viewers are supposed to root for. It's impossible not to like him, which actually became a real problem for Miss Benny.

"You're not supposed to see that I'm immediately into him at the beginning of the season, so the number one note I kept getting was that it was too obvious that I was in love with him," Miss Benny says, adding that they had a similar issue with Marco and Parker. "In real life, I'm in love with both of them. They're such sweethearts, and they made this whole experience so perfect."

If Miss Benny had their way, the show would've made them a throuple and called it a day.

"The whole time, I was just like, 'Can't I have both of y'all? Can't we just make this a thing?'" Miss Benny says. "The chemistry people see on screen is very true to how I feel about those two boys."

Marco and Chad?

As for Marco and Chad, while the show never explored anything romantic between Madolyn's plucky assistant and alpha son, you weren't imagining the chemistry in their scenes together.

"Zane [Phillips] and I were always playing it as if we had a little bit of an underlying thing," Miss Benny admits. "We thought that would be fun. Our characters are rivals, and there's so much tension in our scenes, so we would end our scenes looking at each other being like, 'Oh yeah?' 'Yeah.' And then it was like, 'Arewe going to kiss? What's going to happen here?'"

Though anything is possible, especially if Netflix decides to pick Glamorous up for a second season, Miss Benny still thinks that Marco and Chad "would be the weirdest pairing of any on the show."
