The Boys Prequel Series Vought Rising Rounds Out Cast, Reveals First Look At Jensen Ackles And More In Costume

Jensen Ackles is ready to play hero again. The actor is set to reprise his role as The Boys' Soldier Boy in Prime Video's forthcoming prequel series Vought Rising — and now we have our first look.

The streamer on Thursday released official portraits of Ackles as Soldier Boy, Mason Dye as Bombsight, Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel and Will Hochman as Torpedo, adding that "once upon a time, these four were as American as apple pie."

As first revealed during The Boys' panel at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this summer, Vought Rising is a "twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought." More simply, it's a "salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V."

Entering production this month, Vought Rising also stars Aya Cash as Stormfront. Additional series regulars include Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri and Brian J. Smith, but details about their characters are currently under wraps.

Neither an official premiere date nor a trailer for Vought Rising have been released. Paul Grellong will serve as showrunner, executive-producing alongside Ackles, Cash, Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr and Jim Barnes.
