• The Young and the Restless fan fave Marcy Rylan (Abby) is returning to the CBS soap on a recurring basis beginning in early 2013, per Soap Opera Digest.
• NBC has expanded Law & Order: SVU's current season, Deadline reports, ordering two additional episodes of the long-running procedural.

• Everwood alum Treat Williams has been cast as Taylor Kinney's father in Chicago Fire, per TV Guide Magazine. He'll first appear in a January installment of the NBC drama.
• USA Network has given the green light to a sci-fi drama pilot from Walking Dead EP Gale Anne Hurd. Titled Horizon, the project takes place during World War II and centers on a FBI secretary who believes her husband was killed battling a spaceship.
• TLC has slotted William and Kate: A Royal Baby Story, a special airing Dec. 16 at 8/7c.
• MTV's new Hills-eqsue docu-series Washington Heights premieres Jan. 9.
