The curtain is rising on Amy Sherman-Palladino's next act: Amazon has unveiled the first trailer for Étoile, the forthcoming ballet comedy from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creator.
The streamer previously announced that Étoile will premiere Thursday, April 24, with all eight episodes of the series dropping at once. Set in both New York and Paris, Étoile follows the dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies as they embark on an ambitious gambit to save their storied institutions by swapping their most talented stars. (FYI: Étoile, pronounced āˈtwäl, is defined as a principal dancer in a ballet company.)

The cast includes Maisel vets Luke Kirby (aka Lenny Bruce) and Gideon Glick (aka Susie's magician-client Alfie), as well as Charlotte Gainsbourg (Alphonse, Call My Agent!), Simon Callow (Outlander), Lou de Laâge (The Innocents) and David Alvarez (West Side Story).
Sherman-Palladino also recruited two of her former Gilmore Girls colleagues, Yanic Truesdale and Kelly Bishop, to recur in Étoile Season 1.
