10. RORY AND LOGAN SAY GOODBYE ("FALL")
The couple's farewell scene — which ended with Logan taking a mental picture of his love — was a veritable heartbreaker. Major props to Alexis Bledel and Matt Czuchry for their beautifully subtle, restrained work here.

9. PARIS' SURROGACY PITCH TO LORELAI AND LUKE ("WINTER")
At last week's premiere screening, the crowd was laughing so hard during this scene it was nearly impossible to catch all of the PG-13-rated zingers flying out of Paris' mouth. Liza Weil is a comedic force of nature. Scott Patterson is also aces here.

8. LORELAI AND RORY'S CEMETERY QUARREL ("SUMMER")
The three decade-old shame and embarrassment that Rory's book proposal reawakend in Lorelai gave way to one of the most emotionally resonant and painfully raw scenes between mother and daughter in the series' history.

7. THE LIFE AND DEATH BRIGADE SWEEPS RORY OFF HER FEET ("FALL")
Visually stunning as it was emotionally rousing, the return of Finn, Colin, Robert and (of course) Logan was a swoon-worthy triumph.

6. SOOKIE RETURNS! ("FALL")
Team Palladino did indeed make a little Sookie go a long way. I was afraid Melissa McCarthy's much-ballyhooed cameo would feel forced and shoehorned in, but my fears were unfounded. The rousing and surprisingly meaty scene not only lived up to the hype, but proved to be the icing on an already delectable revival.

5. EMILY'S DAR OUTBURST ("FALL")
She didn't say bullshit once. She didn't say bullshit twice. She said bullshit three times. And then she stormed out. I defy you to name a more crowd-pleasing television moment all year.

The revival's most brutally bitter scene cut deep and reminded us that beneath the whimsy and the quips lies one of TV's richest, most relatable family dramas.

It was arguably the revival's most important scene, and Amy Sherman-Palladino (who penned the speech) and Lauren Graham knocked it out of the park.

2. LORELAI AND EMILY'S FIRST THERAPY SESSION ("SPRING")
Everything about the opening "Spring" sequence — from Daniel Palladino's riotous words and masterful direction to Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop's deft comic timing — was perfect. The next time someone asks me to explain my obsession with Gilmore Girls, I will sit them down and play them this scene.
