Jennifer Aniston To Play Jennette McCurdy's Mother In I'm Glad My Mom Died Series Adaptation For Apple TV+
Jennifer Aniston has lined up her next role — and it's a juicy one. The Morning Show star is set to headline I'm Glad My Mom Died, a series adaptation of Jennette McCurdy's acclaimed memoir of the same name.
The iCarly star will write, executive-produce and show-run the 10-episode series alongside Ari Katcher (Ramy, Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show). Aniston, Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters) and Jerrod Carmichael are also EPs.
First released in 2022, I'm Glad My Mom Died spent more than 80 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list. The series adaptation is described as "a heartbreaking and hilarious recounting of Jennette McCurdy's struggles as a former child actor while dealing with her overbearing, domineering mother. The dramedy will center on the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid's show, and her narcissistic mother (played by Aniston) who relishes in her identity as 'a starlet's mother.'"
No word yet on who will inhabit the McCurdy role.

Aniston continues to star in and executive-produce The Morning Show, which returns with Season 4 on Wednesday, Sept. 17. I'm Glad My Mom Died doubles as her second series for Apple TV+ and the only other series that she has committed to since Friends wrapped its 10-season run in 2004.
