Larry David's Curb Follow-Up Revealed: An HBO Sketch Comedy Series Produced By The Obamas

This sounds pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good: Fifteen months after the series finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David is returning to HBO to create and star in an as-yet-untitled sketch-comedy series whose executive producers include Barack and Michelle Obama.

The limited series, which will consist of six episodes, reunites David with Curb EP Jeff Schaffer, and will feature "a mix of some Curb actors and noteworthy guest stars," per HBO. Schaffer will also serve as director. The official logline reads as follows:

President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honor America's 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion... But then Larry David called.

"I've sat across the table from some of the world's most difficult leaders and wrestled with some of our most intractable problems. Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David," the former President of the United States said in a statement.

Added David: "Once Curb ended, I celebrated with a three-day foam party. After a violent allergic reaction to the suds, I yearned to return to my simple life as a beekeeper, harvesting organic honey from the wildflowers in my meadow. Alas, one day my bees mysteriously vanished. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I return to television, hoping to ease the loss of my beloved hive."

A release date has not yet been announced — though if the series is meant to mark America's 250th birthday, that would seem to confirm a 2026 premiere. TVLine will keep you posted as we learn more. In the meantime, hit the comments and let us know if you're looking forward to David's HBO homecoming.
