We now know what took the life of actress Michelle Trachtenberg at just 39 years old.
Trachtenberg died naturally as a result of complications from diabetes mellitus (the scientific term for diabetes), according to a statement from New York City's chief medical examiner provided to our sister site Deadline. Trachtenberg had been dealing with health problems prior to her death and underwent a liver transplant just months earlier.
Initially, it was announced that Trachtenberg's cause of death would remain undetermined, with her family declining an autopsy for religious reasons.
