Outlander: Blood Of My Blood Renewed For Season 2 Ahead Of Series Premiere
Starz is extending its residence in 18th-century Scotland.
The network has renewed Outlander's upcoming spinoff Blood of My Blood for Season 2 ahead of the series' premiere this summer, TVLine has learned.
As previously announced, Season 1 of the prequel will get underway on Friday, Aug. 8, at 9/8c.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood follows Jamie's parents, Scots Ellen MacKenzie (played by Pennyworth's Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Condor's Nest's Jamie Roy), and Claire's parents, Brits Julia Moriston (We Hunt Together's Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Treadstone's Jeremy Irvine). Per the official logline: "The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie's parents in the early 18th-century Scottish Highlands and Claire's parents in WWI England."
"The passion and talent our cast and crew have poured into Outlander: Blood of my Blood has been extraordinary, and we're thrilled to continue these epic love stories in Season 2," showruner/executive producer Matthew B. Roberts said via statement. "Just as audiences fell in love with Jamie and Claire, we hope viewers will be enamored by these new couples when they meet them this summer."
Production on Season 2 begins today in Scotland.
