Overcompensating Renewed For Season 2 At Prime Video

Is Overcompensating coming back? Yee! Prime Video has renewed the college-set comedy for Season 2, TVLine has learned.

"I have been so overwhelmed by the insane response to the show, and feel so damn lucky to go back to Yates University with Amazon MGM Studios, A24, Strong Baby and this legendary cast for Season 2!" creator, writer, star and executive producer Benito Skinner said in a statement. "PLAY SUPER BASS :)."

Overcompensating Season 1 follows "the wild, chaotic journey of Benny (Skinner), a closeted former football player and homecoming king, as he becomes fast friends with Carmen (Wally Baram), a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs," per the official logline. "With guidance from Benny's older sister (Mary Beth Barone) and her campus-legend boyfriend (Adam DiMarco), Benny and Carmen juggle horrible hookups, flavored vodka and fake IDs."

Additional cast members include Rish Shah (as Miles), Holmes (Hailee), Corteon Moore (Gabe), Owen Thiele (George), Nell Verlaque (Emily) and Tomaso Sanelli (Trent).

The series also welcomed a slew of guest stars over the course of its freshman run including Lukas Gage (Companion), Megan Fox (New Girl), Bowen Yang (The Wedding Banquet), Matt Rogers (No Good Deed), James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek), Didi Conn (Harlan Coben's Shelter), Rachel Matthews (Upgraded), Danielle Perez (The Night Agent), Boman Martinez Reid (Made For TV with Boman Martinez-Reid), Yasmine Sahid (Knock Knock), Andrea Martin (Evil), Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Kaia Gerber (Palm Royale), Julia Shiplett (Happiness for Beginners), Tommy Do (Hacks), Alexandra Beaton (The Next Step), Claire Qute (Workin' Moms), Maddie Phillips (Gen V) and singer-turned-EP Charli XCX.

Overcompensating Season 1 dropped all 10 episodes in May and earned an average TVLine reader grade of "A."
