Ratings: Bachelor Flies High, The Cape Hits Low

THE BACHELOR - "Episode 1505" - The Bachelor must face the difficult task of taking Ashley H. and Ashley S., two women he's fond of, on the famed two-on-one date, vowing to have fun - even with a painful choice looming at the end of the night. What a surprise Brad has in store for the ladies! They go backstage of the hit show "Viva ELVIS by Cirque du Soleil," where they discover they'll be a part of the performance later that night. But there's a catch: the number they'll perform is a duet, and Brad will need to decide which woman will stay and perform with him. The tension filled dinner does nothing to make Brad's decision any easier, as he sends one woman home in tears, on "The Bachelor," MONDAY, JANUARY 31 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. Two of TV's most beloved bubble shows didn't get much help this Monday night, as Chuck's midseason finale matched its series-low rating and Lie To Me lost some of the momentum it had going into its Season 3 finale.

Instead, the big winners for the night were ABC's The Bachelor, which delivered a season-high 9.5 million total viewers/3.2 rating, and NBC's Harry's Law, which (albeit opposite repeats of Castle and Five-0) is holding steady at 10.9 million viewers.

(Can anyone explain to me why Bachelor Brad and whomever are dangling in the above picture in front of, like, a wall of long underwear?)

Elsewhere on Monday:

* As mentioned, Chuck slipped about 10 percent in both total viewers (5.56 mil) and in the demo (down to a 1.8 rating). The news was better for a special airing of Human Target, which gave Fox's action-drama its best numbers of the season, with 7.8 million viewers and a 2.2 rating.

* At 9 o'clock, a Two and a Half Men repeat was the night's most watched program, with 11.2 million viewers. (And CBS breathes a sigh of relief....) Lie To Me dropped 8 percent of last week's impressive audience ( to just over 7 mil), while NBC's The Cape swooped down to an all-time low 1.5 rating. Gossip Girl was down both in total audience (to 1.5 mil) and in the demo.
