Jessica Chastain And Adam Driver To Star In Apple Drama Series The Dealer
Apple TV+ has handed a straight-to-series order to The Dealer, a new drama series headlined by executive producers Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver.
The project, which hails from Tony Award winner Sam Gold, is described as "a biting exploration of power, class, seduction and culture set inside the glittering world of the high-end art market," per the official logline. The series is "told through the eyes of an aspiring super gallerist," played by Chastain, "and the tangled relationship with her most gifted and unnerving artist," played by Driver.
The Dealer marks the second collaboration between Chastain and Apple TV+; the Oscar winner is also set to lead The Savant, an eight-episode limited series inspired by a true story written by Andrea Stanley and published in Cosmopolitan. (Though a synopsis for the show remains under wraps, the lead for that August 2019 Cosmo story reads, "You've never heard of her, but somewhere in America, a top secret investigator known as the Savant is infiltrating online hate groups to take down the most violent men in the country.") She previously led the 2022 Showtime mini George & Tammy, which earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Driver, meanwhile, is a three-time Emmy nominee for his breakout role as Adam Sackler in HBO's Girls (2012-17). He went on to earn a pair of Oscar nominations, for 2018's BlacKkKlansman and 2019's Marriage Story.
No word yet on a possible release timeframe, but TVLine will keep you posted as we learn more. In the meantime, hit the comments and tell us if The Dealer sounds up your alley.
