Walton Goggins Sets Record Straight On Righteous Gemstones Nude Scene: 'That's Not My Penis'
Here's the long and short of it: Yes, Baby Billy's 80-year-old penis was on full display during Sunday's The Righteous Gemstones, but the package seen on screen did not belong to his 53-year-old portrayer, Walton Goggins.
"Let me be very clear – that's not my penis," Goggins declared earlier this month to a packed Hollywood crowd following a screening of Season 4's revealing second episode, before asserting with a smirk, "My penis looks nothing like that whatsoever."
In a subsequent interview with TVLine, Goggins went on to confirm that the HBO comedy's creator and star, Danny McBride, "offered me the option of using my own penis" in the eye-popping sequence, but the Fallout actor, whose current Sunday night repertoire also includes HBO's The White Lotus, declined the invitation.
"We've done lot of chaotic things over the course of our 12-year collaboration; I will follow Danny McBride anywhere — except there," Goggins admitted with a laugh. "That's one thing I won't do."
And one thing McBride apparently won't do is allow Goggins to vote on which elderly penis would ultimately be CGI'd over his octogenarian alter ego's midsection. "I had no say in the casting of that penis," Goggins maintained.
There's precedent here. As McBride himself recently pointed out to reporters, "When we first met Baby Billy [in Season 1], his penis was exposed. So, we felt that with this [being] the last season, of course, [we] need to show that again."
The twist? "It was not the same penis," McBride revealed of the Season 1 and Season 4 appendages. "[They were] different penis[es]. So there are some continuity issues when you really look at it."
