Sight Unseen: Daniel Gillies Returns To The CW In Blind Detective Thriller (Exclusive Sneak Peek)
The man formerly known as Elijah Mikaelson is returning to The CW in Sight Unseen, a new action-drama series about a visually impaired homicide detective, and TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek.
Dolly Lewis stars as Tess Avery, the aforementioned detective who is forced to quit after an on-the-job incident nearly gets her partner Jake (The Originals' Gillies) killed. Despite being diagnosed as clinically blind, Tess insists on pursuing the cases she left behind, now aided by a professional seeing-eye guide named Sunny (The Flash's Agam Darshi), an agoraphobe who lives 3,000 miles away and never leaves her apartment.
And, spoiler alert, Sunny is also "hiding a secret of her own — a violent event from her past she hopes to one day solve," according to The CW's official logline. Check out a series of exclusive first-look photos below:

"The heart of Sight Unseen is the relationship between Tess and Sunny," the show's executive producers, Nikolijne Troubetzkoy and Karen Troubetzkoy, tell TVLine, explaining that it allows for "suspenseful action sequences from a POV we've never seen before. It's challenging, authentic and will keep audiences on the edge of their seat."
We also have an exclusive clip from the premiere, which showcases what producers call "the double-edged sword of Tess' dilemma: To do what she is driven to do (solve crime), Tess must put her life in the hands of the stranger who guides her. But who is Sunny — and can we trust her?"
