Sirens Dominates Nielsen Streaming Top 10 Chart In Debut
Netflix's Sirens dominated Nielsen's U.S. ranking of streaming originals (as well as the Overall Top 10) for the week of May 19, by amassing nearly 1.4 billion minutes viewed for its five episodes.
Nielsen notes that the dark comedy attracted a largely Millennial and Gen X audience, with Adults 35-64 accounting for 57% of its watch time.
Hulu's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives placed a distant second with 810 million minutes viewed across 18 episodes, followed by Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale (637 million minutes/65 episodes), Disney+'s Andor (down three spots with 527 million minutes/24 episodes) and Netflix's American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden (466 million minutes/three episodes).
Rounding out the Top 10 streaming originals for the week of May 19 were three Netflix offerings — YOU, Secrets We Keep and The Four Seasons — followed by Peacock's Poker Face and Paramount+'s MobLand.
Meanwhile on Nielsen's ranking of acquired series, CBS' NCIS with the conclusion of its 22nd season landed at No. 1 for the first time since 2023, with 824 million minutes viewed/488 episodes. (Of note, Paramount+ contributed a larger portion of NCIS' viewing this interval than Netflix.) HBO'sThe Last of Us with the release of its Season 2 finale claimed the No. 5 spot, with 707 million minutes/16 episodes, while The CW's All American – with Season 7 dropping on Netflix — placed No. 8, with 559 million minutes/119 episodes.
