My Adventures With Superman Finale Summons Familiar Foe For Season 2

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... spoilers from the season finale of My Adventures With Superman. Haven't watched yet? Stream it now on Max.

With Ivo defeated and the people of Metropolis back on his side, Clark deserved to enjoy a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving on the farm in the first season finale of My Adventures With Superman. Naturally, he got the exact opposite.

What should have been a romantic, memorable first Turkey Day for Clark and Lois spiraled into... well, it actually ended up being both romantic and memorable, just not for any of the reasons it should have been.

The first course of chaos was served when Lois' dad arrived for dinner, only for Clark to recognize him as the General, aka the person by whom he was very recently kidnapped and tortured. (Oh, right, General Lane. Probably should have seen that one coming, huh?)

Clark did his best to keep Lois from learning the truth about her father, but his efforts weren't successful, nor were Lois' attempts to hide the contents of that pesky video sphere from Clark. He barely had time to react to the sight of his future self destroying the city before he began feeling the effects of the Kryptonite, which in turn set off the defense systems in Clark's ship.

The Man of Steel essentially offered himself up as a sacrifice to destroy the auto-invaders, despite Lois' tearful pleas to the contrary. And even after nearly dying (again!) in the Krypto-splosion, Clark still had General Lane to contend with, prompting Lois to leap into the hero seat and prevent her father from taking down the man she loves. (Like we said, romantic and memorable!)

And what would a finale be without an exciting little tease about what's still to come? (Yes, the show received a two-season order, so there's plenty more on the way!) Anyway, the final shot of the episode was that of a particularly sinister-seeming character receiving word about the trouble Superman gave their ships on Earth.

"Let them rebel," the nefarious figure replied. "It does not matter. In the end, they will kneel."

Even if you don't speak fluent Kryptonian, there's a pretty good chance you're familiar with the iconic Superman villain known for telling his enemies to kneel before him. That would be General Zod, a military leader from Clark's home planet who has battled the Man of Steel in many iterations of the DC hero's tale.

And what that, the first season of this unique, endearing, anime-style take on Superman has come to an end. Did My Adventures With Superman stick the landing in this finale?
