Lessons In Chemistry: Brie Larson Cooks Up A Feminist Revolution In Trailer For Apple TV+ Drama — Watch
Brie Larson is giving out cooking lessons — with a dash of social progress on the side.
Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the upcoming limited series Lessons in Chemistry, starring Larson as Elizabeth Zott, whose promising career in science is derailed when she's fired by her chauvinistic bosses. She finds an outlet for her skills, though, in the kitchen, cooking up delicious treats for her colleague. ("It's just chemistry," she tells him.) Soon enough, she's recruited to host her own TV cooking show, helping housewives bake the perfect baked potato... and lacing her recipes with feminist pep talks that win her a loyal following.
Not everybody is a fan, though: The Office's Rainn Wilson plays a skeptic who tells Elizabeth that "a man wants his wife to make him a drink after a long day at work." But Elizabeth shoots back: "Why do you assume that his day was longer than hers? Why don't you make the drink?" The supporting cast also includes Lewis Pullman (Outer Range), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away With Murder), Stephanie Koenig (The Flight Attendant) and Kevin Sussman (The Big Bang Theory).
The eight-episode series based on the bestselling book by Bonnie Garmus premieres Friday, Oct. 13 on Apple TV+. Press PLAY above for a sneak peek, and then hit the comments to share your first impressions.
