Ransom Canyon: Netflix Sets Release Date For Josh Duhamel-Minka Kelly Drama — Watch Teaser Trailer
Saddle up for a trip to the Texas countryside this spring.
Netflix announced Thursday that its contemporary Western romance Ransom Canyon, starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, will release Thursday, April 17, with all 10 episodes. A first teaser trailer has also been released, which you can watch above.
Per the show's logline, Ransom Canyon — based on Jodi Thomas' series of novels — follows three ranching families set against the rugged terrain of the Texas Hill Country. They find themselves fighting outside forces for control of their land, legacies, and lives.
Duhamel (Las Vegas) stars as stoic rancher Staten Kirkland, owner and sole occupant of the sprawling Double K Ranch. His character "leads the charge to resist the outside forces threatening his way of life and the land that he loves." Kelly (Friday Night Lights) will play Quinn O'Grady, who returns to Ransom Canyon to "carve out a new path for herself" after pursuing a career as a concert pianist in New York City.
Alongside Duhamel and Kelly, the series also stars James Brolin (Life in Pieces) as Cap, a brash ex-Army captain and bullheaded owner of Fuller Ranch; Eoin Macken (La Brea) as Davis Collins, the charming, Ivy-educated owner of the modern Bar W Ranch; and Lizzy Greene (A Million Little Things) as Lauren Brigman, Ransom Canyon's ambitious head cheerleader and the sheriff's daughter.
April Blair (Wednesday, All American) serves as series creator, writer and executive producer, with Amanda Marsalis, David McWhirter, Meera Menon and Michael Offer directing.
