Emmys 2026 Poll: Who Should Win For Supporting Actor In A Drama Series?

We'll see a new winner crowned this year in the race for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series when the Emmys are handed out Monday, September 14, on NBC — and three staffers from "The Pitt" are among those hoping to take home the trophy.

Last year's victor in this category, "Severance" star Tramell Tillman, is ineligible this time around since "Severance" is in between seasons, opening the door for one of this year's seven nominees to grab Emmy gold. And three of those seven nominees hail from HBO Max's acclaimed hospital drama "The Pitt," with Patrick Ball (aka Dr. Frank Langdon) and Gerran Howell (aka Dr. Dennis Whitaker) celebrating the first Emmy nods of their careers. Their co-star Shawn Hatosy actually won an Emmy last year for playing Dr. Jack Abbot in the freshman season of "The Pitt," but that was in the guest actor category; this time, he'll try his luck in the supporting actor field.

The men of "The Pitt" will face some tough competition, though, from the other four nominees in the race, including a two-time winner in Billy Crudup, who earned his fourth nod this year for playing network executive Cory Ellison on the Apple TV drama "The Morning Show." Jack Lowden also nabbed his second nomination for his work as MI5 agent River Cartwright on Apple TV's "Slow Horses," and after earning a nod on "Ozark," Tom Pelphrey is back in the running for playing thief Robbie Prendergrast on the HBO crime drama "Task." Plus, making his Emmy debut is Carlos-Manuel Vesga, up for playing prickly survivor Manousos on Apple TV's sci-fi series "Pluribus."

So if you had a vote in this year's Emmy race, whose name would you write on your ballot? Someone from "The Pitt," perhaps? Or one of the non-"Pitt" nominees? Vote for your favorite in the poll below, then hit the comments to defend your pick.
