Crew Girl Renewed For Season 2 At Netflix
Netflix is enrolling in another semester at Easton Prep, renewing Canadian rowing drama "Crew Girl" for Season 2, TVLine has learned.
The series, which dropped its eight-episode first season on September 10, follows Teagan, a teenage rowing prodigy whose life is turned upside down when her hotelier father's embezzlement scheme costs their family everything. She relocates to her mom's Massachusetts hometown, where she becomes the coxswain for her new school's boys' varsity crew team. Drama, action, and, of course, love triangles ensue.
"Crew Girl" stars Miku Martineau as Teagan Tao, Samuel Braun as Josh Regis, Kyle Clark as Cam Dillinger, Thomas Cadrot as Coach Hayden, Jessica Paré as Ella Emerson-Tao, and Connor Paton as Ryder Regis.
Series creator Vivian Lin serves as showrunner, executive-producing alongside Jeff Norton, Lindsay Macadam, Hillary Zwick Turner, Tony Chung, and Lori Massini.
How did Crew Girl Season 1 end?
The name of the game at the end of "Crew Girl" Season 1 is... confessions! Josh admits that he sawed the oar before their race against Westvale (and let Baloo's boyfriend Logan take the fall), Teagan reveals that she tampered with her rowing machine at the indoor qualifiers, and Tegan's dad finally emerges from hiding to face the FBI.
It all comes to a head at the Haverford Cup, where Easton Prep wins a silver medal. Sadly, it also looks like it'll be the last race for Josh, who tells his family about his heart condition. Josh's grandfather reacts coldly, as if he's merely losing out on an investment, prompting Josh's dad to finally step up and become the father Josh has always wanted.
In other parental news, Teagan says goodbye to her father as the FBI carts him off to prison, while Juliet receives an unexpected visit from her own absentee mother.
Despite her obvious feelings for Josh, it's Cam who snags Teagan's final kiss of Season 1, further complicating the show's big love triangle. Of course, Teagan barely has time to process that kiss before learning that she'll soon be rowing for a new girls' team... one controlled by Britney.
