Among the many familiar faces on "Marshals," the actress playing U.S. Marshal Pete "Cal" Calvin's (Logan Marshall-Green) estranged daughter, Maddie, stands out for her diverse guest-star experience. Played by Morgan Lindholm, Maddie Calvin works as a bartender at the local Bullet 'n Barrel of "Marshals," where she sasses customers and entertains a complicated dynamic with her father, Cal. But before she was pouring drinks in the recent "Yellowstone" spin-off, actress Lindholm was making appearances on "Bones" and "Leverage: Redemption."

Lindholm's short-lived role in a 2017 episode of "Bones" marked her television acting debut. Following brief appearances in thriller films like "2020" and "Truth or Dare," the actress returned to TV when she was cast in a two-episode arc on "The Fosters." She then took her talents to the supernatural AMC drama "NOS4A2" as the younger version of a character played by Judith Roberts. Lindholm eventually rounded out her pre-"Marshals" acting resume with small parts in "Chicago Med" and "Leverage: Redemption." "Marshals" marks Lindholm's first role as a consistently recurring character in any television series; she appeared as Maddie in 11 out of the 13 episodes in Season 1 and is slated to further develop the character in the currently-streaming "Marshals" Season 2.

The cast of Marshals made Morgan Lindholm feel at home

Despite the varied range of acting credits under her belt, Morgan Lindholm knew that taking on a role in the "Yellowstone"-verse would be no small feat. "I wish I could be cool about it, but it is intimidating, and leading up to the first day, I was so nervous," Lindholm told The Dallas Morning News in an April 2026 interview. The actress clarified that although she initially felt stressed about meeting the older and more experienced cast of "Marshals," the welcoming atmosphere of the show's set quickly put the worst of her nerves to rest. "Luke [Grimes, who plays protagonist Kayce Dutton,] is such a warm person," Lindholm shared. "Also, I was in the bar scenes, and everyone was in a jovial mood when they reached those scenes. Sometimes we'll have a guest musician, so there's a little music. Everyone is sitting in a circle and cracking jokes."

It's no secret that, much like its parent series, "Marshals" centers on intense subject matter and characters who are never too far from mortal danger. But according to Lindholm, the show's cast doesn't let the heavy onscreen nature of the show affect their lives offscreen. "It's a happy set," the actress explained. "The material on the show is dark, but by the time they get to the bar scenes, everyone's like, it's time to party."
