FBI Spinoff CIA Adds Chicago Med's Nick Gehlfuss, Dynasty's Michael Michele Opposite Tom Ellis

The CIA, or at least CBS' version of it, just recruited two very familiar faces.

Nick Gehlfuss, who will temporarily return to NBC's Chicago Med this season, has been tapped for a series-regular role on the FBI spinoff, playing an FBI agent who works closely with Tom Ellis' CIA agent Hart Hoxton. And Michael Michele, who recently spent four seasons portraying Dynasty's Dominique Deveraux on The CW, has also been added as a series regular, playing a supervisor at the CIA, Variety reports.

Per the spinoff's official logline, CIA is "centered on two unlikely partners — a fast-talking, rule-breaking loose cannon CIA case officer, and a by-the-book, seasoned and smart FBI agent who believes in the rule of law." (Ellis' character is the "loose cannon," while Gehlfuss is the rule follower.)

"When this odd couple are assigned to work out of CIA's New York Station, they must learn to work together to investigate cases and criminals posing threats on U.S. soil, finding that their differences may actually be their strength," the logline concludes.

In addition to Chicago Med, Gehlfuss' TV credits include recurring roles on Longmire, Murder in the First, Shameless and The Newsroom. And prior to Dynasty, Michele appeared on shows like Queen Sugar, Star, ER and Homicide: Life on the Street.

CIA is slated for a midseason premiere on CBS, putting it somewhere on the schedule for 2026. Will you be tuning in? Do these newest additions intrigue you? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
