Eileen Fulton, Who Played As The World Turns' Villainous Lisa Miller, Dead At 91
Eileen Fulton, who played Lisa Miller on CBS' As the World Turns for five decades, has died at age 91. The daytime icon passed on July 14 "after a period of declining health," according to an obituary posted by her family.
Fulton's journey to daytime stardom began in 1960 when she joined the cast of As the World Turns, originating the villainous role of Lisa Miller. Her character would eventually tie the knot on eight separate occasions, as all true divas do. She continued to portray Lisa [insert one of many last names here] on and off for the better part of 50 years, making her final on-screen appearance in 2010.
In addition to her nearly 1,800 episodes of As the World Turns, Fulton also played Lisa in the show's short-lived primetime spinoff Our Private World. It lasted 38 episodes, airing from May to September 1965 on CBS.
Fulton earned a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2004 Daytime Emmys, telling the Academy with a laugh, "I don't mean to sound ungracious, but I felt it was about time. I wanted it 10 years ago, I really did, and I'm very happy to have it. ... I have it standing right here in my entranceway. I could have said, 'Oh, I'll just put in the closet.' Hell no! I'm going to put it right out here where everyone can see it and lust after it."
