Spider-Noir: Nicolas Cage Suits Up In Superhero Series For MGM+ And Prime Video — WATCH

Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage aims to draw you into his web in the first photo and a teaser video, seen below, from Spider-Noir, a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir.

Debuting Stateside on MGM+'s linear channel and then streaming globally on Prime Video, Spider-Noir tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (played by Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one and only superhero.

On track to premiere in 2026, the series will, fittingly, be available in both black-and-white and color.

Spider-Noir also stars Lamorne Morris (New Girl), Brendan Gleeson (Mr. Mercedes), Abraham Popoola (The Rig), Li Jun Li (Wu Assassins), Karen Rodriguez (Acapulco) and Jack Huston (Mayfair Witches), while the roster of guest stars includes Lukas Haas (Righteous Gemstones), Cameron Britton (The Umbrella Academy), Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives), Michael Kostroff (The Deuce), Scott MacArthur (Killing It), Joe Massingill (Killing It), Whitney Rice (Jury Duty), Amanda Schull (12 Monkeys), Andrew Caldwell (Henry Danger), Amy Aquino (Bosch), Andrew Robinson (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and Kai Caster (Yellowstone).

Oren Uziel (The Lost City) and Steve Lightfoot (Marvel's The Punisher) developed the series with the Academy Award-winning team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (in which Cage voiced the same role) — Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal — and serve as co-showrunners. Harry Bradbeer (Killing Eve) is set to direct and executive-produce the first two episodes; Aditya Sood and Dan Shear also serve as EPs.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have Nicolas Cage starring in this series," Katherine Pope, President Sony Pictures Television Studios, said last year when the project was first announced. "No one else could bring such pathos, pain, and heart to this singular character." Added Amazon MGM Studios TV chief Vernon Sanders: "The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero and the accomplished producing team with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, and the incredible team at Sony is dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way."
