Ratings: Rudolph Slips Facing Monday Night Football Competition

In the latest TV ratings (delayed due to the holiday), ABC's share of the Monday Night Football pie added up to 8.6 million total viewers and a 1.4 demo rating, down 35% and 39% from the early numbers for last week's extremely well-watched Eagles/Chiefs game.

Facing off against MNF for the first time in at least a while (since it usually airs on a Tuesday), CBS' Rudolph the Red-Nosed broadcast (3.1 mil/0.4) was down sharply from last year.

NBC's The Voice (6.4 mil/0.5) of course improved on the previous Monday's clip show, while a holiday edition of Weakest Link (2.8 mil/0.3) was down sharply in audience from the on-hiatus The Irrational's average (3.8 mil).

Over on Fox, Kitchen Nightmares: Hey, It's Another Toxic Male Cook (1.6 mil/0.3) ticked up, while Special Forces: WTT (1.2 mil/0.2) was flat with its finale.

The CW's Masters of Illusion (260K) dropped some eyeballs, whereas World's Funniest Animals (260K) gained some.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show's overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives.
