Why Renee Birdwhistle From Neagley Looks So Familiar

"Neagley" brings audiences a new spinoff from the world of "Reacher," as the titular private detective runs her own company with the help of determined investigators like Renee Birdwhistle. And if Renee looks familiar, that's because actor Adeline Rudolph's career has already seen her rack up credits in some major franchises.

Rudolph is currently best known for playing Kitana in "Mortal Kombat II," an Edenian princess who seeks revenge against Shao Kahn (Martyn Ford) for killing her father. She's also landed some major roles on a handful of Netflix shows, including one of the best dark academia TV shows of all time – 2018's "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina." On that show, she played one of the Weird Sisters, Agatha Night. 

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" was Rudolph's first ever acting job, making it all the more impressive that she landed a recurring role on it. Speaking to Esquire, she said that she knew how "lucky" she was to work on the series and didn't take it for granted. "It taught me how to navigate a set," she explained. "I learned how to behave. I showed up as a baby. I didn't know what a rehearsal really was, or what hair and makeup test entailed. Or that I had autonomy in how I wanted to craft my character."

After "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," Adeline Rudolph scored a main role in Netflix's "Resident Evil" TV series in 2022. She played the adult version of Billie Wesker throughout the show, which was canceled by the streamer after one season. Rudolph also co-starred in 2024's "Hellboy: The Crooked Man" as Bobbie Jo Song, an agent for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense who works with Jack Kesy's titular demonic detective. And she returned to the horror genre yet again for 2026's "Do Not Enter," in which she played Diane, an urban explorer who's hunted by a mysterious creature.

Rudolph spoke about her frequent work in horror and action in an interview with Schön! Magazine. "I love my genre work and would definitely want to continue to do that," she said. "I would also, however, love to step into a grounded drama project or do a dramedy and explore those worlds too, especially because I feel like I have a lot of life experiences that I believe would lend themselves to a real-world story."

And that's exactly what she's doing, too: Rudolph is already pushing her career to new places thanks to thrillers like "Neagley," as well as the upcoming "13 Going On 30" reboot with Emily Bader and Logan Lerman.
