Landman Promotes 4 Cast Members As Season 3 Begins Production — Get A First Look

CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, LLC is open for business: "Landman" Season 3 has started filming in Fort Worth, Texas, TVLine has learned.

In addition, four of the Paramount+ oil drama's cast members have been promoted to series regulars for the coming season.

The newly boosted actors are: Colm Feore, who plays former MTex lawyer Nathan; Mustafa Speaks, who plays crew chief Boss; Bobbi Salvor Manuez, who plays Ainsley's college roommate, Paigyn; and Francesca Xuereb, who plays T.L.'s "physical therapist" Cheyenne (whose real name is Penny).

In addition to series star Billy Bob Thornton (Tommy), the returning cast also includes Demi Moore (Cami), Ali Larter (Angela), Sam Elliott (T.L.), Andy Garcia (Gallino), Jacob Lofland (Cooper), Michelle Randolph (Ainsley), Paulina Chávez (Ariana), Kayla Wallace (Rebecca), James Jordan (Dale), and Mark Collie (Sheriff Joeberg).

In September, TVLine reported that Michael Kelly — whose numerous TV credits include "Lioness," "The Penguin," and "House of Cards" — is joining the Taylor Sheridan series for Season 3. Kelly will play William Crockett, a "titan of industry" who directs the world's biggest oil-management firm. "Everything about him," the official description states, "exudes efficiency and money."

Season 2 ended with Tommy creating CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, LLC, a family oil business that would allow him to do what he loves while working along side his son, Cooper, and his father, T.L. In the new season's first photo, we get the first confirmation that the new business is a go, courtesy of a sticker on a hard hat at (what we presume is) a drilling site.

"Tommy really thrives whenever he's in the patch, in the field with the hands and really working more of the day-to-day operations," series co-creator/EP Christian Wallace told TVLine at the end of Season 2, previewing that the new venture will let him "lean into some of the stuff that he enjoys most out of this very difficult job."

In May, while a guest on the "Howie Mandel Does Stuff" podcast, Billy Bob Thornton mentioned that Season 3 would begin production in August. We hear that Thornton spoke prematurely, and that filming dates hadn't been finalized at that point.
