Reba McEntire and James Denton are together again, two decades after the "Desperate Housewives" alum first played her love interest on "Reba."

NBC's newly released trailer for "Happy's Place" Season 3 offers our first look at Denton as JB, a handsome stranger who, as TVLine exclusively reported in September, catches the attention of both Bobbie and Gabby (Melissa Peterman) when he turns up at the tavern. Ultimately, though, it's Bobbie he wishes to pursue — potentially complicating matters between her and Emmett (Rex Linn).

Denton previously romanced McEntire on her eponymous WB sitcom. He first appeared in the 2005 episode "Date of Mirth" as Dr. Jack Morgan, a marriage counselor for Barbra Jean and Brock who developed sparks with Reba. He returned in the Season 5 episode "The Trouble With Dr. Hunky," when Jack came back to Houston hoping to rekindle their romance... despite still being married.

Everything We Know About Happy's Place Season 3

"Happy's Place" Season 3 picks up in the wake of Bobbie and Emmett's breakup, with the former couple attempting to navigate the "friend zone." Elsewhere, Isabella's (Belissa Escobedo) new speakeasy takes off; Gabby adjusts to living with her mother Val (returning guest star Jane Lynch, pictured above); Steve (Pablo Castelblanco) resolves to stop hiding behind his OCD; and Takoda (Tokala Black Elk) faces challenges that affect how others at the bar perceive him.

Justina Machado is also set to reprise her Season 1 role as Isabella's mother Maritza.

"Happy's Place" Season 3 premieres Friday, October 23 at 8/7c on NBC, where it will now lead into the Tim Daly-Téa Leoni comedy "Newlyweds."
