"NCIS: New York" has introduced TV audiences to a number of new crime-solving agents, such as Addison, "Addy" Ross — played by Jacqueline Byers. As skilled and as tough as anyone else in the field, Addy should prove a vital member of the team in "NCIS: New York" Season 1 and beyond.

If you're wondering where you've seen Byers before she joined the new CBS police procedural, you might recognize her from her past TV and movie roles. From 2017 to 2018, Byers starred in the CBS sci-fi thriller "Salvation," in which she portrayed Jillian Hayes throughout both seasons. Earlier, the Canadian actor guest-starred as Cleo in the second episode of the Guillermo del Toro-created FX original "The Strain." In its first and only season, Showtime's music dramedy "Roadies" featured Byers as the character Natalie Shayne — an obsessive fan of the show's rock band. More recently, Byers showed up in Season 2 of AMC's period crime drama "Dark Winds," appearing as the journalist Mary Landon in six episodes.

On the film side, if you caught the comedy "Forbidden Fruits" earlier this year, you might recall seeing Byers as the Momfluencer. Before that, Byers notably starred in the 2022 horror film "Prey for the Devil," playing a nun who learns how to exorcise people possessed by demons.

Jacqueline Byers is beginning a new journey on NCIS: New York

Taking the next big step in her acting career, Jacqueline Byers is now part of the "NCIS: New York" main cast, joining a major TV franchise for the first time. In addition to investigating murders and other crimes, Byers' Addy Ross has already exhibited some fun chemistry with her fellow NCIS agent Wyatt Hill (Shane Harper). While Byers' new venture alongside the likes of LL Cool J, Scott Caan, and other stars has placed her under a bigger spotlight than ever before, it's only the most recent development in a lengthy career that dates back to the 2000s.

In 2019, while working on "Salvation," Byers reflected on how far she has come since her early days in Hollywood during an interview with Brief Take. "I did a sci-fi show when I first started, but this just seems like ... I'm in a different place as an actor, I think. So when you first walk into the business, not that the nerves ever go away, but to feel confident in your ability and what you can bring to a show is empowering."

"NCIS: New York" is just getting started on CBS, so both new and longtime fans of the franchise can expect a lot more crime-fighting action for Addy in the weeks to come.
