After Netflix canceled "Daredevil" in 2018, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock got another chance with Disney+'s "Daredevil: Born Again." But in September 2026, Disney announced it was ending "Daredevil: Born Again" on its third season. Now, Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum has some advice for fans hoping to see more of the vigilante: A campaign alone may not be enough.

Winderbaum, who oversees Marvel's television projects, said the team had always intended for "Born Again" to conclude after three seasons, matching the original Netflix show's run. "They're kind of like trade paperbacks or collections that you can slot into your shelf, like these are two 3-volume sets, and then we will take a breath and then figure out what's next for the character," Winderbaum said on "The Brandon Davis Show" in October 2026.

Winderbaum also discussed fan campaigns, stressing that viewership numbers give him leverage to pursue new projects. "Like Save Daredevil is great, but we also need #WatchDaredevil," he explained. "The biggest leverage I have ... is the actual viewership numbers. That's what people are looking for. That's where I get my power to be able to make something or not." With "Daredevil: Born Again" Season 3 expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2027, viewers will have another chance to demonstrate their interest in the character.

Charlie Cox and his Daredevil co-stars react to the show's ending

When Netflix canceled "Daredevil" in 2018, Charlie Cox and several of his co-stars spoke out about wanting the series to continue. Years of fan campaigns followed before Disney+ brought back many of the original actors for "Daredevil: Born Again." This time, however, Cox says the cast had more warning that the show would be ending.

Reacting to the news, Cox told GamesRadar+ at New York Comic Con in October 2026, "[There was] a little bit more planning and emotional support. We knew about it [this time]. We had a good sense [it was going to be canceled]." Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Page, also addressed the cancellation, while Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio thanked fans and teased what's to come in Season 3.

The news also comes as "Born Again" brings back more familiar faces from Marvel's Netflix era. Jon Bernthal, Krysten Ritter, and Mike Colter have already reprised their roles, while Finn Jones is set to return in Season 3. Although "Born Again" is coming to an end, it's not yet clear what the future holds for these characters elsewhere in the MCU.
