Casting News: The Gentlemen Hosts LOTR Reunion, Jimmy Smits Visits St. Denis Medical, And More
A couple of old friends from Middle-earth are joining "The Gentlemen."
Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom, who starred together in the "Lord of the Rings" film trilogy, have joined the Season 3 cast of Netflix's action thriller, the streamer has announced. Also joining the cast in Season 3: Robert Carlyle ("Once Upon a Time"), Dexter Fletcher ("Band of Brothers"), Bruna Marquezine ("Blue Beetle"), Ed Speleers ("YOU"), Saffron Burrows ("Mozart in the Jungle"), Philip Arditti ("The Day of the Jackal"), and Bugzy Malone, who appeared in the 2019 film version of "The Gentlemen."
Notably absent from that list: Meghan Markle, who was reported to be in "advanced discussions" to join the cast in Season 3, in a return to acting amid her much-publicized marriage to the U.K.'s Prince Harry. Since then, though, Markle has allegedly been dropped from consideration.
"The Gentlemen" stars Theo James as Eddie Horniman, a former Army captain who unexpectedly inherits his late father's estate... and the criminal empire that apparently comes with it. Kaya Scodelario co-stars as crime boss Susie, with Ray Winstone as Susie's imprisoned father Bobby. Netflix renewed it for a third season in August, a month before Season 2 debuted on the streamer.
