Jason Voorhees is one of the most iconic characters in horror movie history, but Chucky, the killer doll from the "Child's Play" series, is a pretty accomplished slasher in his own right. Callum Vinson has had experience with both of them, too, as he played Jason in Peacock's "Crystal Lake" series and a kid who owned Chucky in the SYFY series of the same name.

Vinson stars in the third season of "Chucky," which premiered in October 2023. The season largely takes place inside the White House; Vinson plays Henry Collins, the younger son of the President of the United States (Devon Sawa). Sensing that Henry is a lonely young boy who needs a friend, Chucky pretends to be a friendly doll rather than a killer toy possessed by the spirit of a serial killer. Once inside, though, he reverts back to his old ways. At one point, he even gets access to the nuclear codes. It's a whole mess.

Henry survives the season, but SYFY cancelled "Chucky" in 2024, so Vinson didn't get a chance to reprise the role in Season 4. He went on to play Amanda Seyfried's son in the Peacock series "Long Bright River" and appeared in an episode of "Poker Face" before landing a main role on Netflix's "The Night Agent."

Even though he's a famous horror movie slasher, Callum Vinson has sympathy for Jason Voorhees

In "Crystal Lake," a prequel series to the "Friday the 13th" films, Callum Vinson plays the future killer and the son to Linda Cardellini's crusading killer momma, Pamela Voorhees. Vinson told Entertainment Weekly that he didn't see Jason, whose supernatural backstory is revealed in the series, as a bad guy.

"He's just a normal boy and he just wants to fit in with everybody, but since he had this deformation in his head, he got bullied a lot," he told EW. Vinson was in the makeup chair for 90 minutes each day to transform him into Jason. "When I read these scripts, I was honestly really sad. I put myself in the body of Jason to become him. And it was hard, but I really enjoyed playing this character. He's one of my favorites."

It's unclear if "Crystal Lake" will be getting a second season, but, in any case, Vinson's next TV role might be his biggest; he's been tapped to play Atreus opposite Dave Bautista's Kratos in the Prime Video adaptation of the "God of War" games. He'll only be in Season 1, however; due to a time jump, Atreus is set to be recast for the sophomore season.
