Why Allie Hayes From Off Campus Looks So Familiar

"Off Campus" star Mika Abdalla and her on-screen love interest, co-star Stephen Kalyn, got the entire internet hot and bothered dancing to the Jennifer Lopez hit "On the Floor" when the show premiered on Abdalla's 26th birthday, May 13, 2026. But that's probably not the first time you've noticed her. She started acting at a young age, so there are tons of ways to stumble on her work. Abdalla's career reached new heights in recent years: Prime Video confirmed that she and Kalyn would be the leads in the show's highly anticipated Season 2.

In 2025, Abdalla also had a four-episode guest-starring arc on HBO Max's critically acclaimed medical drama "The Pitt," where she played a college student named Jenna who overdoses and has to be revived with Narcan by the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center staff. Her "Off Campus" co-star Jalen Thomas Brooks plays nurse Mateo Diaz on "The Pitt," and they shared a scene before entering the world of Briar University together.

Abdalla also starred in Netflix's tween spy comedy, "Project Mc²," which centered on four young ladies who are gifted at STEM and recruited into a spy organization. She played McKeyla, the group's natural leader. The show was nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards in its three-year run from 2015 to 2017. Before her career skyrocketed, Abdalla also starred in the Hulu original film "Sex Appeal," about a teenager preparing to lose her virginity. Plus, she had a five-episode arc on the hit CW series "The Flash," playing metahuman Tinya Wazzo in 2022.

Mika Abdalla's first acting credit is for a "Barney & Friends" episode when she was about 8 years old, so she's used to life on set. But, she admitted in a September 2026 cover story for Cultured that the internet's obsession with the "Off Campus" cast's personal lives can be difficult. "We've all been able to lean on each other for mental support," she said, admitting that she usually tries to avoid being recognized by wearing a hat and hoodie in public. The show may be based on Elle Kennedy's romance series, but she likely wants to keep her rumored real-life romance with co-star Josh Heuston to herself.

On set playing the fun, flirty Allie Hayes, though, Abdalla is relaxed and in her element, something she confessed is new for her. "I'm typically a very neurotic, anxious person. I'm almost addicted to things feeling hard. But from the first time I read for Allie, it felt so easy; it was freaking me out," she admitted in the Cultured interview. While Allie usually tries to keep life as easy as the shaggy curls everyone's trying to emulate (Abdalla has had the haircut for years), she told Teen Vogue that we're going to see a new side of her alter ego in Season 2. "It's a lot more emotionally turbulent, so you lose some of that fun, best-friend energy," she warned.
