Andrea has a decision to make in Sunday's "Marshals" season premiere (CBS, 8:30/7:30c), and as you'll see in TVLine's exclusive sneak peek, Kayce's latest crisis isn't making that decision any easier.

As showrunner Spencer Hudnut recently revealed to TVLine, the "Yellowstone" spin-off's second season picks up "a couple of seconds" after last season's finale, which ended on a number of cliffhangers. Hudnut even admits that he "definitely got some messages from people who didn't appreciate having the rug pulled out so quickly at the end there."

One of those cliffhangers involved Andrea's future on the team; Ash Santos' character had been lobbying for a gig in Washington, D.C., all season, and she appeared to say her official goodbyes in the finale. But after paying a visit to Kayce — whose son Tate has been kidnapped by Tom Weaver in an attempt to gain control of East Camp — Andrea doesn't know what to do.

"I went out to East Camp to see Kayce, and he was acting weird," Andrea tells Cal in our exclusive clip. "I just can't shake the feeling that something's off."

Sure enough, the rest of the squad figures out that the Weavers were responsible for the attack on Thomas Rainwater in the Season 1 finale, making their new mission clear: Find. Tom. Weaver.

Is Andrea still 'willing to walk away' from her Marshals family?

"She seemed pretty committed to going back to that new job at the end of last season, and that's where we're going to find her at the start of this season," Spencer Hudnut tells TVLine of Andrea. "She's sticking to that plan. As the episode unravels, and she realizes that not only is Kayce in trouble but also Tate's in trouble, that's going to compel her to stick around a little longer than she wanted."

Andrea will also have to acknowledge "how close she's grown to this team and how fortunate she is to have teammates like these," Hudnut adds. "The lengths they go to for Kayce remind her of the lengths they went to for her when she was held captive by the Cleggs. She'll really have to confront what she has here, and if she's willing to walk away from that."
