Another familiar face from the "Yellowstone" universe is coming to "Marshals": Jefferson White will recur in Season 2 of the CBS spin-off, reprising his role as ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom, TVLine has learned.

"I'm thrilled to dive into the world of 'Marshals' and continue exploring the American West," White says in a statement. "The cast and crew are stacked full of my favorite actors and filmmakers, and I'm honored to join them. Jimmy and I have been through a lot together, and I can't wait to see what's next for us."

White appeared as Jimmy in more than 40 episodes of "Yellowstone" across all five seasons of the show's run on Paramount Network. In fact, he's one of only a handful of actors to appear in both the 2018 series premiere and the 2024 series finale.

Prior to being cast on "Yellowstone," White already had a good number of recurring TV roles under his belt; he played memorable roles on shows like NBC's "Chicago P.D." and "Blindspot," Netflix's "House of Cards," ABC's "How to Get Away With Murder," and FX's "The Americans." Following his time on "Yellowstone," White guest-starred on CBS' "Blue Bloods" and NBC's "The Hunting Party," and recurred in the final season of Netflix's "YOU."

"Marshals" stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, Logan Marshall-Green as Pete "Cal" Calvin, Arielle Kebbel as Belle Turek-Skinner, Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz, Tatanka Means Miles Kittle, Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Mo Brings Plenty as Mo, and Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater.

Season 2 premieres Sunday, October 4, at 8:30/7:30c on CBS, and will be available to stream the next day on Paramount+. Get a first look at Jimmy's return to the "Yellowstone" universe below.

Who was Jimmy Hurdstrom on Yellowstone?

A deep knowledge of "Yellowstone" isn't a requirement to watch "Marshals," but it certainly comes in handy when characters from the original series visit the CBS spin-off, often bringing dozens of episodes of history with them.

CBS officially describes Jimmy Hurdstrom as a "good-hearted yet rough-around-the-edges ranch hand who evolved from a troubled criminal into a resilient, proud cowboy," which is an accurate-but-simplified version of the character's journey on "Yellowstone."

The definition of a troubled kid, Jimmy (Jefferson White) became a Yellowstone-branded ranch hand at the behest of his grandfather, who reached out to John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and basically begged him to save Jimmy from a life of crime. This led to Rip (Cole Hauser) offering Jimmy an ultimatum — accept the brand, or face the authorities. Jimmy chose the former.

Jimmy had a rough start at the Yellowstone, but he eventually developed a love for rodeo, as well as love for a barrel racer named Mia (Eden Brolin). Jimmy's rodeo career was basically a series of severe injuries, so John sent him to Texas where he could learn the true ways of the cowboy at the 6666 Ranch. As for his love life, things fizzled out with Mia, but Jimmy eventually found love again, marrying a woman named Emily (Kathryn Kelly).

And now you know everything there is to know about Jimmy, but what new secrets could be unearthed when he appears on "Marshals"? Drop a comment with your thoughts on his return below.
