Robert Kelker-Kelly, Former Bo Brady On Days Of Our Lives, Dead At 62
Robert Kelker-Kelly, a soap opera actor whose resume includes playing Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives" for three years, has died. He was 62.
Kelker-Kelly died on Saturday, October 3, in his home in Minnesota, TMZ reports, after police and EMS vehicles responded to a call about an unconscious man who appeared not to be breathing. According to police, Kelker-Kelly had mentioned having chest pain shortly before he became unresponsive. An official cause of death has not yet been released.
Kelker-Kelly played Bo on "Days" from 1992 to 1995, taking over the role from Peter Reckell, who had already been playing the beloved character for a decade. (Reckell has since returned to the role.)
Of course, Bo is just one of many soap characters Kelker-Kelly portrayed during his lengthy career in daytime TV. He spent eight years on "Another World," debuting as Sam Fowler from 1987 to 1990, then returning as Dr. Shane Roberts from 1996 to 1998. His final soap role was Stavros Cassadine, a character he brought to both "General Hospital" and "Port Charles" on and off from 1997 to 2014.
Kelker-Kelly made his TV debut in an episode of Hal Linden's short-lived ABC drama series "Jack's Place," the same years he began playing Bo on "Days." Outside of the soap world, Kelker-Kelly guest-starred on a handful of primetime dramas, including "Touched By An Angel."
