Quote Of The Day By Jennifer Aniston: 'I Would've Given Anything If Someone Had Said To Me...'
Like most of her "Friends" costars, Jennifer Aniston was catapulted to superstardom for her role as Rachel Green on what is considered one of the best sitcoms of the '90s. That will-they-won't-they dynamic with Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and her iconic hairstyles cemented her as a fan-favorite in the series. But aside from living her best life in Central Perk, Aniston has racked up a varied mix of comedies and dramas over the course of her career.
She even starred in NBC's "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" spinoff sitcom, as well as movies like "Office Space," "Marley & Me," and "Horrible Bosses." But in 2019, she added one of the best shows streaming on Apple TV to her resume: "The Morning Show." In it, she plays TV host Alex Levy who finds herself at the center of a scandal when her co-anchor is fired when he's accused of sexual misconduct. "The Morning Show" is coming to an end with its fifth and final season in 2027. So while we wait for the new episodes, here's Aniston's quote of the day.
Quote of the Day by Jennifer Aniston
"All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.' You just don't think it. So, here I am today. The ship has sailed."
The quote of the day comes from Jennifer Aniston's 2022 interview with Allure, where she recalled how her personal life was forced into the spotlight thanks to her time on "Friends" and her high-profile divorce from Brad Pitt in 2005 after five years. In particular, she found it difficult when the press speculated why she didn't have children.
Aniston explained that she attempted to have a child using IVF in her late 30s and 40s, but it didn't happen. However, despite finding IVF difficult, Aniston said she has "zero regrets" because she doesn't continually question whether having a child is still possible. "The Morning Show" star added that she's grateful for the hard times in her life because "otherwise, I would've been stuck being this person that was so fearful, so nervous, so unsure of who they were. And now I don't f***ing care."
Deeper meaning of Jennifer Aniston's quote — regrets are okay, but so is growth
Jennifer Aniston's experience with trying for a child was undoubtedly difficult, let alone the pressure of having the press scrutinize whether she was pregnant or what was happening in her relationships. But the fact that she's able to accept the choices she made when she was younger while knowing that she's grown as a result of them is a worthwhile lesson for anyone.
It's impossible to do anything significant in life without questioning at least once what might've happened if that decision had gone the other way; that can apply to relationships, your career, or even a living situation. But accepting that the choices you made back then have led to the life you live now is far more important than imagining a "what if..." scenario. Of course, that's a generalized way of examining things, and it's not always easy to look at the positives.
But holding onto negativity can often breed resentment, leading to more complicated feelings long-term. That's something that Aniston also has experience with. "It's toxic to have that resentment, that anger. I learned that by watching my mom never let go of it. I remember saying, 'Thank you for showing me what never to be,'" she explained in the Allure interview.
"So that's what I mean about taking the darker things that happen in our lives, the not-so-happy moments, and trying to find places to honor them because of what they have given to us."
