Emmy contenders, Cringe comedy, Reality TV guilty pleasures
- Dave has published more than 200 TV show reviews — and he's still never given out an F.
- His hard-hitting reporting led to a public feud with Mark-Paul Gosselaar that nearly ended up on TMZ Live.
- He is a connoisseur of '80s and '90s TV, and can probably name (and sing!) the theme song of any sitcom you can think of from that era.
Experience
Dave has been covering TV roughly since "The Sopranos" debuted, so he's witnessed the Golden Age of Television firsthand. After early stints at Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide, Dave joined Yahoo TV in 2010, rising to the position of senior editor. He then joined TVLine in 2016, where he now serves as chief of the West Coast bureau. Dave is the primary TV critic at TVLine, and he covers a wide range of beats, from "The Bear" to "The Bachelor." He's conducted hundreds of interviews with TV stars and showrunners, talking with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Conan O'Brien, and Kate Winslet. He has covered the Emmys red carpet and Comic-Con, and also appeared on The Insider as an on-camera TV expert.
Education
Dave earned a bachelor's degree in English with a journalism minor from New York University, serving as the chief film editor of NYU's student newspaper.
